Afghan students protest ban on girls studying in universities

Despite banning the study of girls in universities in Afghanistan, there are still limited protests in the country even under the strict supervision of the administration.

On Tuesday, a young protester demonstrated alone with a placard in front of the gates of the country’s main university. Along with that, male students also joined the protest.

The male students have announced that no student will go to class until the Taliban ban is lifted. In this regard, students are also campaigning vigorously using social media hashtags. News from One India.

In a series of videos circulating online in the past two days, boys are seen skipping class and walking out of exam centers without taking exams. Many teachers are also angry with the Taliban government’s ban. A student said that they do not need the education that is forbidden to their sisters.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed his displeasure with the decision to ban women from working in NGO organizations. In this regard, a top official of the United Nations met with the finance minister of the Taliban government and called for the lifting of the ban.
