Hospitals ‘overwhelmed’ with coronavirus patients in China: World Health Organization

Corona pandemic situation is worsening in China. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the situation of corona infection in the country is alarming.

In the meantime, the hospitals are almost full of patients. At the same time, the organization called on the government of the country to reveal the true picture of Corona.

The executive director of WHO’s emergency program and the head of the team in charge of the international control and treatment of Corona, Michael Ryan says, ‘Intensive care units (ICUs) in hospitals are not empty. Although officials say the number is relatively low. Chinese statistics say that no one died of corona on Wednesday. But the situation is not clear.’

Dr. Ryan said, ‘The Chinese government claims that there are relatively few patients admitted to the ICUs – but in fact the ICUs are filling up. One of the main ways to prevent corona is to get vaccinated.

At a weekly news conference in Geneva, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the agency, said he was very concerned about the growing situation in China. He asked for specific information about the severity of the disease, hospitalization and ICU.

China has developed its own vaccine, which is claimed to be more effective than vaccines used in many countries around the world.

Meanwhile, in the current infection situation in China, the German government said on Wednesday that the first shipment of the corona vaccine made by BioEntech has been sent to China.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s move. This is first foreign corona vaccine in China.
