Hospitals ‘overwhelmed’ with coronavirus patients in China: World Health Organization

Corona pandemic situation is worsening in China. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the situation of corona infection in the country is alarming.

In the meantime, the hospitals are almost full of patients. At the same time, the organization called on the government of the country to reveal the true picture of Corona.

The executive director of WHO’s emergency program and the head of the team in charge of the international control and treatment of Corona, Michael Ryan says, ‘Intensive care units (ICUs) in hospitals are not empty. Although officials say the number is relatively low. Chinese statistics say that no one died of corona on Wednesday. But the situation is not clear.’

Dr. Ryan said, ‘The Chinese government claims that there are relatively few patients admitted to the ICUs – but in fact the ICUs are filling up. One of the main ways to prevent corona is to get vaccinated.

At a weekly news conference in Geneva, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the agency, said he was very concerned about the growing situation in China. He asked for specific information about the severity of the disease, hospitalization and ICU.

China has developed its own vaccine, which is claimed to be more effective than vaccines used in many countries around the world.

Meanwhile, in the current infection situation in China, the German government said on Wednesday that the first shipment of the corona vaccine made by BioEntech has been sent to China.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s move. This is first foreign corona vaccine in China.

Infections have been increasing in China since the lifting of the long-term lockdown.

Death rates increased especially among the frail and elderly. According to the government, the death toll in the country is 5,200, including seven this week.

Meanwhile, India has become active after reports of increasing infections in China.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a meeting with ministers and top officials to review the situation. In all states strict guidelines have been imposed on mask wearing, social distancing. At the same time, the meeting advised to avoid crowds during Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Meanwhile, a new type of corona strain called BF7 has been found in India.

Corona test has been made mandatory for travel to Taj Mahal.

Everyone is participating in the country’s parliament session wearing masks.

The country has also started corona testing of tourists. There is also a quarantine system in place.
