Timken workers agitate, warn of chakka jam agitation after 72 hours

Jamshedpur: Timken workers protested outside the company premises under the leadership of the labour union and raised several demands in the interest of the workers.

The agitating workers gave the management a deadline of 72 hours for fulfilling their demands and said that after the deadline expires, they will block the gates.

Workers alleged that their interests were being hurt by the management.

The workers demanded that they be paid due settlement and legal provisions be complied with on the issues of compensation, notice as well as lay-off payments.

The union gave the management 72 hours to fulfilling all the demands raised by it and said that they would be forced to launch a chakka jam agitation, if their demands were not met by the management within the given time.
