CBSE XII Board Results 2022: Aditya Prem and Prerna of DAV Bistupur are city toppers

Jamshedpur: The results of CBSE Board’s Class XII examination was released on Friday afternoon. Two students of D.A.V. Bistupur achieved the distinction of being city toppers in Science and Arts.

Aditya Prem, a student of DAV Bistupur, has achieved the distinction of being a science topper by scoring 98.2 percent marks, while Prerna Kumari, a student of the same school, has topped in arts by scoring 98 percent marks.

6,000 students appeared in the examination this year.

Aditya is a resident of Gamharia, while Prerna is from Harharguttu.

Aditya is preparing for IIT, Prerna is aiming for UPSC exams.

Both the toppers credited their success to their families and teachers.

Pragya Singh, the principal of DAV School, Bistupur, wished for the bright future of the students who have topped, and also encouraged other students who got less marks.

She said that the examination is only a stage of life.

Those who have less marks should not get disheartened and instead should work hard so that they can achieve better in future.

The percentage of high-scoring Class XII CBSE students has risen to an all-time peak. The number of students scoring 90% and higher increased by about 11.3 percent.

More than 64,900 students (3.1%) earned a 95% or higher grade.

All-time high percentages of students passed the exam (92.7%).

Last year, exams were not held, but the percentage of students passing the exam was abnormally high (99.4%).

This year, the board exams were divided into two terms, Term 1 and Term 2.

Last year, it had been stated that both terms would have equal weightage, with 30% set aside for practicals, with 30% given to Term 1 theory tests and 70% to Term 2.

This year, 30% weightage was given to Term 1 theory exams, with 70% given to Term 2.

This year, both the pass percentage and the proportion of high scorers are the highest ever, excluding 2020 and 2021.
