IAS officers of Jharkhand to submit details of immovable property by Jan 31

All the IAS officers of Jharkhand will have to submit details of their immovable property by month end.

Ranchi: The Indian Administrative Service officers of Jharkhand cadre have to submit the details of their immovable assets to the Personnel Department of the Government by 31 January. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action against them.

A communication to this effect has been sent by the State Personnel Department to all the IAS officers posted in the state. They have been directed to submit the Immovable Property Return (IPR) for the year 2021 online.

In the communication of the Personnel Department, it has been said that while filing the IPR, the date should be appended. In past too, the Modi government has linked the IPR of IAS officers with the vigilance clearance.

In such a situation, the IPR of the concerned officer is also being looked into while making the list of officers for the posts of secretary or other at the central level.

If the IPR of an IAS officer does not get the vigilance clearance, then there may be a hitch in posting to the secretary or other posts at the central level. Not only this, there may also be problems in career during central deputation.

The Personnel Department has clarified that there is no need to submit the said immovable property return in hard copy form to the Department or the Government of India. It has to be filed online only.
