One arrested for loot at knife point near Burmamines Parking

One person was caught on Friday while trying to escape after looting Rs. 6500 from a trailer driver at Burmamines.

Jamshedpur: One person was caught on Friday while trying to escape after looting Rs. 6500 from a trailer driver at Burmamines Parking under the jurisdiction of Burmamines police station.

According to police sources, the driver started shouting for help and the bystanders and locals caught the person who had looted him by threatening him with a knife.

The person caught by the locals has been identified has S Shahu and he has admitted to his involvement in the crime.

The police sources said that the accused S Sahu is a resident of Harijan Basti Burmamines.

Police have recovered Rs 6500 in cash and ATM from the possession of the accused.

On Friday, a case was registered in this regard by the Burmamines police station and the accused was sent to judicial custody.

The police station in-charge said that the arrested accused S Sahu has been jailed many times in the past in the case of beatings, theft and extortion.
