JAMSHEDPUR – J.H. Tarapore School organized a unique ‘Bagless Day’ focused on Art Integrated Learning (AIL), promoting holistic development among students.

The event, held on Saturday, July 20, engaged students from classes 6 to 12 in various creative activities, moving beyond traditional rote learning methods.

"Our aim is to foster a dynamic learning environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking," a school official stated during the event.

Students participated in diverse hands-on activities, including sock doll making, handmade paper creation, and clay painting.

The school’s innovative approach also included crafting paper bags, decorating clay pots with Warli art, and producing items from recycled materials.

"These activities not only spark creativity but also teach practical problem-solving skills," explained a participating teacher.

The ‘Bagless Day’ initiative highlights J.H. Tarapore School’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that nurtures every aspect of student development.

By integrating art into the curriculum, the school aims to enhance students’ engagement with academic subjects through creative expression.

The event showcased how Art Integrated Learning can transform traditional subjects into interactive and experiential learning opportunities.

Students expressed enthusiasm for the hands-on approach, with many noting how it helped them understand concepts more deeply.

"Creating art while learning makes the subjects more interesting and easier to remember," shared a Class 10 student who participated in the clay pot decoration activity.

This initiative aligns with modern educational theories that emphasize the importance of creativity and practical skills in academic growth.

J.H. Tarapore School’s ‘Bagless Day’ serves as a model for innovative teaching methods that could inspire other institutions in the region.
