BJP protests JMM MLAs’ remarks, burns effigies

BJP has accused JMM MLAs of East Singhbhum of fomenting outsider-insider divide. It said that JMM is trying to create social schism for political benefit.

Jamshedpur: BJP has opposed the outsider-insider issue raised by JMM MLAs of East Singhbhum on the issue of Tata Steel Trade Apprentice Recruitment.

BJP workers led by Sanjay Singh of Bagbera Mandal held a protest at Bagbera Chowk and burnt the effigies of the four JMM MLAs accusing them of trying to create a social divide for political benefits.

The president of BJP Mahanagar unit, Gunjan Yadav, also attended the protest.

He said that JMM is trying to create social schism by unnecessary raising the issue of outsider-insider in a corporate recruitment.

He said that if JMM and its MLAs really want to protect tribal interests and the interests of the people of the state, then they should do something for the workers of Surda Mines who have been on indefinite fast since Tuesday for honourable employment.

He said that JMM leaders do not have anything to do with workers or people. They only want to serve their own political and vested interests.

He said that the people have now understood their pretensions and would teach them a lesson.

Those who participated in the protest included BJP Bagbera Mandal President Sanjay Singh, Ganesh Vishwakarma, Vinod Jaiswal, Dharmendra Singh, Nageshwar Rao, Ritesh Gupta, Chanda Devi, Neeraj Singh, Chaturbhuj Singh, Mukesh Singh, Gautam Gupta, Rahul Rajak and others.

It may be added here that all four JMM MLAs from East Singhbhum on Tuesday had met Tata Steel officials at Chamaria Guest House and demanded that the company keep 100% seats in its apprentice recruitment and other jobs exclusively for the youths from Jharkhand. Tata Steel officials said that they would convey their demands to the senior management.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has been agitating against open vacancy for recruitment of Trade Apprentices in Tata Steel.

Last week, a number of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha members had demonstrated and blocked Tata Steel General Office gate for hours and submitted a memorandum to the management demanding preference to the youths of Jharkhand in recruitment.
