JAMSHEDPUR – Police successfully apprehended two armed suspects following a midnight firing incident in the Telco area, recovering illegal weapons and ammunition during the operation.

East Singhbhum district police achieved significant success in their ongoing campaign against active criminals. The operation was conducted under direct orders from the Senior Superintendent of Police. Special strike teams have been actively targeting criminal elements across the district.

However, the breakthrough came during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The incident occurred around 2 AM in Manifest, Adarsh Nagar area. Moreover, residents immediately alerted authorities through the emergency helpline.

A Dial 112 call reported firing near Guddu Prasad’s residence. The caller identified Sagar Upadhyay alias Beetu Matre as the person firing shots. Meanwhile, the special strike team responded with remarkable speed to the distress call.

Police forces reached the location within minutes of receiving the alert. In addition, officers successfully cornered two young men at the scene. The swift response prevented any potential casualties or property damage.

The arrested individuals have been identified as key suspects. Sagar Upadhyay alias Beetu Matre, aged 26 years, was the primary accused. Furthermore, Kishan Panjiyar, aged 23 years, was apprehended as his associate.

Authorities recovered substantial evidence from the suspects during the operation. One country-made pistol was seized from their possession. Besides, three live cartridges were confiscated along with the weapon.

Police also recovered two smartphones with touchscreen displays. On the other hand, a Swift car bearing registration number JH05BG9121 was impounded. The vehicle’s role in the criminal activity is being investigated thoroughly.

The City Superintendent of Police confirmed legal proceedings against both accused. Arms Act charges have been formally registered in this case. However, forensic examination of the recovered weapon is currently underway.

Investigators are determining whether the seized pistol was used previously. Moreover, ballistics experts will match it against unsolved criminal cases. The weapon’s history could potentially solve multiple pending investigations.

Local residents experienced considerable panic following the firing incident. Nevertheless, swift police action provided immediate relief to the community. The neighborhood has since returned to normalcy with increased patrol presence.

“District law and order will be maintained through strict action,” stated a police official. In contrast, criminals will face zero tolerance policy implementation. The campaign against active offenders will continue with full intensity.
