4 policemen including ASI suspended for drinking during lockdown in Rock Garden

Ranchi: Ranchi SSP Surendra Jha has suspended four policemen, including an ASI, after an alleged video went viral in the state capital in which the four policemen were seen in a beer party.

Those who have been suspended include ASI Sudhir Kumar Jha, Havildar Sukhdev Oraon, constable Niranjan Singh and driver Virendra Tirkey.

The four have been suspended for drinking while on duty and thereby tarnishing the image of the police department. A departmental action too has been started against them.

The alleged video went viral in Ranchi on Sunday, which showed the policemen enjoying themselves in a beer party in the Rock Garden in Kanke during the period the entire city was under complete lockdown.

According to sources, they got the Rock Garden closed and then went on to have a beer party. Soon an alleged video of the same surfaced prompting the SSP of Ranchi to order an inquiry and take prompt action in the matter.
