Free vaccines for all above 18 from June 21

25% vaccines will remain for private sector, maximum margin Rs. 150

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation today, announced some key changes in the vaccination policy.

The centre has taken up the task of procurement of all vaccines and it will distribute the vaccines to all citizens above 18 years of age completely free. 75% of such vaccines would be procured by the centre and would be given free to the states.

However, 25% of the vaccines would also be given to the private sector hospitals, who can charge for the vaccines. However, an additional limit of only Rs. 150 has been imposed over and above the procurement price for such vaccines.

The benefits under Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana have been extended till November 2021. Under this scheme, 80 cr Indians would continue to get food grains till November.

The Prime Minister also cautioned people to not get misled by rumour mongers and get vaccinated without any fear.
