Two arrested in Ulidih firing case, sent to judicial custody
Jamshedpur: The city police today arrested two accused of the Ulidih firing case. The arrested persons are Anish Kumar Thapa alias Raja Thapa and Abhinandan Sao.
The duo were arrested in connection with the firing at Ulidih yesterday. The accused had allegedly fired at one Ajay Verma, the owner of Ajay Jewellers, Ulidih on Thursday. Ajay Verma was injured in the incident and is under treatment in TMH.
The city police have succeeded in cracking the case and arresting the two accused within 24 hours. The police also recovered a country-made pistol, a Scooty bike, a mobile phone and a helmet from their possession.
Speaking to the media, the SSP Dr M Tamilavanan said that the person who was injured in the firing, Ajay Kumar Verma, frequently visited Raja’s house and is said to have a relationship with his sister.
The SSP said that Raja Thapa had objected to the relationship several times in the past too, but Ajay Verma did not listen to him.
He said that due to this, Raja Thapa and his partner carried out the firing at Ajay Verma. He said that Ajay Verma and Raja Thapa had old dispute and enmity.
The SSP said that both the accused have admitted their involvement in the firing..
