No corona death in city for 37 days, but pandemic risk still lurks

Jamshedpur: No corona related death was reported in East Singhbhum on Monday as the total death toll due to the pandemic remained static for the 37th straight day at 375. However, with the steady rise of corona cases in different parts of the country, the risk of infection still lurks in the district.

East Singhbhum has lost the maximum number of lives due to coronavirus till date. For the last 2 months, there has been a clear decline in the disease in terms of deaths as well as number of cases. However, the district as well as the state is still not out of the woods.

Experts feel that despite vaccination process, mask and other safety measures still remain the best defence at the community level.

Any negligence on the part of the general population may prove costly for everyone as the disease may resurface in the city in a big way.

According to official data, 4 new cases were detected in the district taking the total number of infections in the district to 18,182. On the other hand, 7 patients were also cured and discharged from hospitals. The number of total recoveries in the district has now reached 17,746.

For now, the district has only 61 active cases of coronavirus.

The recovery rate for the district has reached 97.62%, while mortality rate remains at 2.06%. The positivity ate for the district is 3.26%.
