4 arrested in Sujoy Nandi murder case, sent to judicial custody

Jamshedpur: Seraikela-Kharsawan police on Saturday arrested four persons in connection with Sujoy Nandi murder case and sent them to judicial custody on Saturday.

The police were facing a lot of criticism for not doing enough to arrest the persons responsible for the murder of BJP leader and businessperson Sujoy Nandi. Sujoy Nandi was killed in broad daylight near his house at S Type Chowk under the jurisdiction of Adityapur police station.

The locals had later blocked the Tata-Kandra Road demanding immediate arrest of the people responsible for the murder.

Meanwhile, after facing criticism for not doing enough to arrest the killers in the case, Adityapur police seemed to have acted fast on Saturday and arrested two persons already named as accused in the case and two others. Those who have been arrested are Sagar Gope, Pradip Man, Imdad Khan and Ashish Deep. One desi katta, one cartridge and four mobile phones have also been seized from their possession.

Giving the details of the arrest, the SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, M Arshi said that the police have seized a katta from the possession of the main accused Pradip Man and Sagar Gore. He said that during the interrogation of the two accused, two other names have surfaced and they too have been arrested.

The SP said that Imdad too has a record of involvement in crimes, while Pradip Man too is an accused in several cases.

Asked about involvement of a criminal now serving a life sentence in jail, the SP said that this too is being probed and all factors are being looked into.
