New government employees demonstrate for Old Pension Scheme
Jamshedpur: The state government employees recruited after 2004 protested on Tuesday against the new pension scheme and demanded restoration of the old pension scheme even for the new employees. A number of employees were seen demonstrating on the East Singhbhum district headquarters premises.
The protesting employees also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding restoration of old pension scheme.
When asked by media persons as to why they were demonstrating on the premises of the district headquarters, they tried to avoid the quesion.
Actually, whenever members of any political or social outfit reach the district headquarters to meet the DC, they are stopped outside the district headquarters premises on the grounds of Covid-19 and are asked to go away after submitting their memorandum. If they protest, cases are registered against them under the Pandemic Act.
However, the government employees themselves were seen protesting and shouting slogans on the headquarters premises.
