Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) announces resumption of outdoor activities

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation has announced the resumption of outdoor activities in line with the safety guidelines rolled out by government as part of unlock measures & easing of travel restrictions.

The first expedition which started post lockdown restrictions were lifted was Triple Pass Challenge starting from October 10, 2020. The expedition will last for 20 days and provides an opportunity for the participants to accompany Ms Bachendri Pal while passing through three peaks, namely Darwa pass, Bali pass and Borasu pass. The trail will start from Sangamchatti in Uttarakhand and will end at Chitkul in Himachal Pradesh. This interstate expedition will also be an opportunity to visit Dodital lake, Yamunotri Temple, Ruinsara Tal and Har Ki Dun Valley. Participants will start the expedition at 4,000 ft and will end at 11,300 ft. The highest point in the trail will be Borasu pass at the height of 17,900 feet.

The team at TSAF consists of 4 Everesters, Ms Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman to summit Mt. Everest, Mr Hemant Gupta, an IIT graduate, Ms Poonam Rana and Mr R S Pal both from the state of Uttarakhand. Rest of the team consists of Mohan Rawat, an instructor with decade of experience along with Dharmendra and Rangdev.

Considering the risk of COVID19 spread and safety of everyone involved, TSAF has consciously restricted the group size to 7 participants apart from the TSAF team, thus providing an exclusive experience for the participants. The participants hail from different parts of India, Kamal, a professor at IIM Indore, Malav from Ahmedabad, Amol from Pune, Priya from Bangalore, Anurag from Jaipur, Seema Toliya and Anita from Uttarakhand reflecting trust in TSAF’s ability to organise a safe expedition.

TSAF will keep doing outdoor expeditions in the month of October and November such as Dayara Top, Siari Top and Dodital Top. These are being designed to provide an opportunity for all kinds of participants, with intensity of challenge varying from easy to moderate to difficult. Group size for these expeditions will again be less than 10 participants. The announcement about dates & registration will be done on the social media handles of TSAF.
