Cyclist killed in hit-and-run accident near Mango Gandhi Maidan

Jamshedpur: A speeding car hit a cyclist near Gandhi Maidan under the jurisdiction of Mango police station. The cyclist was badly injured and rushed to MGMCH by the bystanders, where he died during treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Karmakar, a resident of Indurmati village, Bhilaipahari.

A companion of the deceased informed the family members about the accident.

The car driver involved in the accident is still untraced.

According to police, the deceased was cycle-borne and was returning to his village with his friend. His friend too was on another bicycle.

A speeding car first hit an auto rickshaw and then banged against a vending-cart parked near the road and then hit the cyclist Rajendra Karmakar.

The bystanders took him to MGMCH, but he died during treatment. Police are investigating the case.

Buddeshwar Mardi, the companion of the victim, said that the car was speeding and out of control.
