Criminals fire and slip away in Kitadih

No containment zone for crime in city

Jamshedpur: Criminals are taking full advantage of the busy work schedule of district police. While the district police is directing its time and resources to ensuring that social distancing norms are not flouted by the people and Corona threat is kept at bay, the criminals are having a field day and manage to slip away easily after perpetrating crimes.

In the latest incident, a few criminals sought money from a meat shop owner in Kitadih under the jurisdiction of Bagbera police station area.

When the shop owner refused to pay up, they fired in air and then slipped away.

The police later confirmed the incident and said that shopkeeper Balbir Singh was sitting in his shop when two persons approached him and asked him to pay up rangadari.

This caused an argument between them and the youths then fired in the area and then slipped away.

The officer in charge of Bagbera police station Rajesh Kumar Singh said that a firing incident has been reported and investigations are on to arrest the accused.

He said that the accused have been identified and arrests would be made soon.

Sources said that the police later arrested one person with criminal antecedents in this connection.
