Covid-19 kills another woman in TMH second consecutive day, city death toll now 5

16 new positive cases in East Singhbhum, total cases 691, cured and discharged 9

Jamshedpur: Covid-19 killed another woman in the city on second consecutive day here Wednesday taking the total death toll for the city to 5.

According to official sources, another Corona positive woman died of complications in TMH on Wednesday. This was the second consecutive day when a woman died in the city of Corona.

On Tuesday too, a woman from Kadma had succumbed to Corona complications. In fact, on Tuesday, a woman from Jamadoba also died in TMH.

However, her death is not counted as one related to this district. The total death toll for East Singhbhum has now reached 5.

The woman who died today was a resident of Baridih and was 50-year-old. She was also suffering from cancer and had come from Bihar for treatment. Later, she was found to be corona positive.

Corona is started taking a heavy toll in the city. However, most of the deaths related to persons who had co-morbidities.

Meanwhile, 16 new Covid-19 positive cases were identified today in East Singhbhum. The total infected persons in the city have now reached 691. Among the new cases, one has had a travel history to Daman and Diu, one to Hyderabad, two to Chennai, one to Aurangabad and one to Bihar.

Out of these, one patient is from Ghatshila, two from Bagbera, one from Dhalbhumgarh, two from Baharagora, one from Telco, four from Sonari, one from Kadma, one from Bhalubasa, one from Jugsalai, one from Golmuri and one from Mango.

All the new positive patients are now being admitted in the Covid ward of local hospitals.

Meanwhile, the administration has started taking tough measures to thwart the spread of Corona in the district.

The administration has now also made it clear that anyone who goes out in public without wearing a mask would be rounded up and sent to jail. Businesses that flout the social distancing norms would also be made to face law.
