Thursday: 60 new positive cases in Jharkhand, 57 cured, total cases now 2585

Ranchi: Thursday proved a bad day for Jharkhand as 60 new cases were confirmed in Covid tests. This takes the total number of infected persons till date to 2585. However, 57 persons were also cured and discharged in the state and that has been the silver lining.

The recovery rate in the state is a matter of consolation. For now the state has a total of 582 active cases.

In Ranchi, three people were found Covid-19 positive on Thursday. One is from Kokar, one from Argora and the third is from Bedo.

Till date, 15 people have died of Covid-19 in the state.

The first case of Corona infection was detected on March 31 last in Hindpidhi. But since the time the migrant workers started returning to the state, the number of positives started increasing.

However, Jharkhand has a recovery rate better than that for the entire country.

The recovery rate has reach 76.90%, while the growth rate of new cases is only 1.91%. The doubling rate of number of patients is 36.72 days, while the death rate is only 0.58%, which is much lower than the national mortality rate.
