One more dies of Corona in Jharkhand, total deaths 9, 30 fresh positive cases

Ranchi: Covid-19 has taken one more life in Jharkhand on Monday. One old person died of Corona virus infection on Monday at RIMS here. This 81-year-old patient was shifted to RIMS from Raj Hospital after he was found to be Corona positive. With this the total number of deaths due to Corona has reached 9.

In all 30 new Corona positive cases were confirmed in the state on Monday. This takes the number of total infected to 1793. However, 1000 persons have also been cured and discharged. The state has 784 active cases presently.

In all 30 persons have tested positive in different districts of the state. As far as RIMS is concerned, three persons were also released from the hospital. On Monday itself 433 tests were carried out in RIMS, out of which six from Khunti, five from Chatra, four from RIMS, three from Lohardagga and two from Ranchi have tested positive. More cases are likely to be reported by the districts by late night.

This has taken the total number of Corona infected patients in the state to 1793. With today’s fatality, the total number of deaths in the state has now reached 9. For now, 784 infected persons are being treated in different hospitals of the state.

Jamshedpur is still at the top in terms of number of Corona infected cases. On Sunday 37 cases were reported from Jharkhand, out of which 10 were from Jamshedpur alone.

Doctors and nurses too have been infected in RIMS, while a nurse has been confirmed as positive in TMH, Jamshedpur.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand government has not taken any decision on relaxing the curb on garment shops, shoe shops and spa and saloon business.

The business sector has been demanding that these sectors too be given relaxations. But, the government has made it clear that it would be difficult to allow these businesses to operate in present situation.

The chief minister Hemant Soren indicated to the meeting that any decision in this regard would be taken only after the consultation with the prime minister during his meeting with chief ministers slated to be held on June 16 and 17.
