Saryu Roy Leads Demonstration Against Railway Neglect

JAMSHEDPUR – A protest began at Tatanagar station against frequent passenger train delays affecting daily commuters.

The demonstration started Tuesday near the main gate of Tatanagar station. It was led by MLA Saryu Roy.

Meanwhile, many residents and social workers joined the protest in large numbers. Women participants were also seen raising slogans.

However, several organisations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, extended their support. Protesters beat drums to register strong opposition.

Moreover, demonstrators accused railway officials of favouring freight trains. They claimed passenger services were being neglected regularly.

On the other hand, commuters reported severe inconvenience due to delays. Many said daily travel had become unpredictable.

Meanwhile, Roy stated that travel from Chandil to Jamshedpur should take 30 minutes. However, trains now take up to four hours.

In contrast, he highlighted the hardship faced by daily wage workers. Many rely on timely trains for employment.

Moreover, he said railway authorities must ensure punctual operations. He added that passenger convenience was being ignored.

However, the protest was organised to demand immediate corrective measures. Protesters insisted on restoring normal train schedules.

Meanwhile, participants warned of expanding the agitation if ignored. They demanded urgent intervention from railway officials.
