SERAIKELA – A Mega Legal Empowerment Camp was organized on Sunday at the Community Hall in Seraikela by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The event aimed to promote legal awareness and provide support to underprivileged sections of society.

Promoting Access to Justice

The program was inaugurated by Principal District and Sessions Judge Ramashankar Singh, along with other dignitaries, by lighting a ceremonial lamp. Addressing the audience, Judge Singh emphasized the significance of justice in sustaining democracy. He highlighted the misconceptions in the past where access to justice seemed unattainable for marginalized individuals due to social and economic pressures.

He credited the Supreme Court of India for initiating the District Legal Services Authority, which ensures free legal assistance to the poor. Judge Singh noted, “Through awareness campaigns across villages, people have become more informed about their rights and are utilizing the services provided by DLSA.”

Other key speakers included District and Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhary Ehsan Moizu, DLSA Secretary Tausif Miraj, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadanand Mahto, and Block Development Officer Yasmita Singh. They underscored the importance of legal empowerment and the steps taken to make justice accessible to all.

Expanding Legal Outreach
