Saryu Roy to Inspect Every Inch of Mango Water Supply Project

MLA Saryu Roy Takes Firm Stand on Water Supply Issues in Mango

Key Points:

  • Residents complain of water supply failure in Mango areas
  • Officials blame faulty pumps and intake well issues
  • Saryu Roy to personally inspect the project site

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy on Saturday visited several areas of Mango after receiving complaints about water supply failures under the Mango Water Supply Project.

Residents’ Grievances and Officials’ Response

Residents from Kumrum Basti and Haldhar Apartment informed Saryu Roy that they were not receiving water despite the Mango Water Supply Project being operational. Roy contacted the Executive Engineer of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, who claimed that the issue stemmed from faults in the intake well.

Meanwhile, when Roy spoke to municipal officials, they reported frequent breakdowns and burnouts of the pumps used to distribute water.

Instructions and Inspection Plans

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Saryu Roy reminded the officials that during a previous meeting, he had instructed them to keep additional pumps as backups for all water tanks to ensure uninterrupted supply. He criticized the authorities for not implementing the directives, stating that water supply disruptions due to pump failures were unacceptable.

Roy announced that he would personally inspect every inch of the Mango Water Supply Project on Monday and Tuesday to identify the root causes of the failures.

Sharp Criticism of Departmental Negligence

Saryu Roy strongly criticized the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, attributing the water supply failures to their negligence. He stated, “It is a matter of shame that over ₹100 crore has been spent on this project, yet residents are not getting water. Officials must identify the problems, and I will ensure they are resolved, but they must seriously address these issues.”

Roy’s firm stance signals a push for accountability and urgency in resolving the persistent water supply problems faced by Mango residents.
