JAMSHEDPUR – A major theft took place early morning at around 3:00 AM in the house of Rajiv Chaudhary, located near North Susnigadia Panchayat Bhawan in Parsudih. The family had left for Samastipur, Bihar, to attend the first death anniversary of Chaudhary’s father, leaving the house unoccupied.
The thieves reportedly looted valuables, including cash and jewelry, estimated to be worth between two and three lakhs. Vijay Kumar, Chaudhary’s nephew, who was staying at the house, discovered the incident upon waking up. He said he was alerted only after checking CCTV footage that showed suspicious individuals at around 3:00 AM.
Upon receiving the information, DSP Taukir Alam and Parsudih Police Station In-charge Faid Ahmed arrived at the scene. The police have begun their investigation, examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits.
“The footage shows two youths moving around the house suspiciously during the night. They are currently being questioned,” said a police official involved in the investigation.
The family is expected to return from Bihar soon and will provide a detailed list of the stolen items to the police. Meanwhile, officials are closely monitoring CCTV evidence and conducting inquiries to locate the suspects.
The incident has raised concerns among residents in the area regarding safety, particularly during periods when houses are left vacant. Police have assured that every effort will be made to apprehend the culprits at the earliest.
