JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School Bistupur concludes two-day workshop for English teachers, focusing on modern teaching methods and CBSE updates.
The Capacity Building Programme for In-Service English teachers at primary, secondary, and senior secondary levels concluded its second day at DAV Public School Bistupur on September 3, 2024.
Organized under the aegis of DAV CMC, New Delhi, and guided by Mrs. Pragya Singh, ARO DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand Zone-E and Principal of DAV Public School, Bistupur, the workshop aimed to update teachers on the revised curriculum and essential skills.
The event saw participation from 48 teachers representing six schools in the Jharkhand Zone-E.
Various sessions were conducted to familiarize teachers with recent changes incorporated by CBSE in teaching and learning methodologies.
Mrs. Dalia Mukherjee led an interactive session for secondary and senior secondary teachers, focusing on modern and effective strategies for teaching prose.
A joint session by Mrs. Sujata Mukherjee and Mrs. Meena K S addressed different types of learning gaps and activities.
The third session showcased teachers’ creativity, with participants presenting individual assignments and displaying tasks assigned the previous day.
Mr. S. K. Jha’s session centered on innovative ways of teaching literature in secondary classes and making lessons more engaging.
For primary teachers, Mr. Avishek Mazumder conducted a session on teaching poetry, emphasizing the three R’s: Rhyme, Recitation, and Rhythm.
Mr. P.K. Das showcased modern classroom approaches in his session on enhancing writing skills through activities.
Mr. Shashi Bhushan Kumar highlighted the importance of activities in breaking the monotony of traditional classrooms during his session on teaching prose.
The final primary-level session, led jointly by Mrs. M. Sunita and Moulimala Ghosh, focused on strategies to facilitate learning.
"This workshop has provided invaluable insights into modern teaching methodologies," remarked a participating teacher. "I’m excited to implement these strategies in my classroom."
The two-day workshop concluded with a valedictory function and feedback session, emphasizing the transformation of students from passive to active learners.
