Passengers express frustration as new service encounters setbacks

JAMSHEDPUR – The recently launched Vande Bharat train experienced significant delays on its Patna-Tatanagar route, causing passenger dissatisfaction.
The journey from Patna to Tatanagar took over 12.5 hours, despite an early arrival on the outbound trip.
Travelers reported numerous unscheduled stops during the return journey.
"This trip was worse than riding on older express trains," a disgruntled passenger remarked.
The delay left many questioning the efficiency of the new service.
Scheduled Operations
Regular service for the Tatanagar-Patna, Tata-Brahmapur, and Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat trains is set to commence on September 18.
The Tata-Patna train (20893/20894) will depart Tatanagar at 5:30 am on select weekdays.
It will make stops at several stations before reaching Patna at 12:45 pm.
The return journey is scheduled to leave Patna at 2:15 pm, arriving in Tatanagar at 9:30 pm.
Fare Structure
Executive class tickets for the Tata-Patna route will cost Rs 2,245.
Chair car fares are set at Rs 1,145.
An additional Rs 250 will be charged for meals.
The Tata-Brahmapur train offers varying fares for executive and chair car classes.
Prices range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,270, depending on class and meal inclusion.
Additional Routes
A Sunday service (21893/21894) will run from Tata to Patna starting September 22.
This train will depart Tata at 5:30 am and reach Patna at 3:55 pm.
The Tata-Brahmapur train (20891/20892) will operate daily except Tuesdays from September 18.
It will leave Tatanagar at 2:50 pm and arrive in Brahmapur at 11:55 pm.
The Howrah-Rourkela train (20871/20872) will run daily except Tuesdays.
This service will depart Howrah at 6:00 am and reach Rourkela at 11:50 am.
