Accused Brothers Sent to Judicial Custody in Jamshedpur
Key Points:
- Anil Sona and Krishna Sona sent to judicial custody
- Country-made pistol, cartridge and shell recovered from spot

JAMSHEDPUR – Two brothers arrested over a firing incident in Kadma have been sent to judicial custody, with police recovering a pistol and ammunition linked to the case.
Police named Anil Sona as the main accused in the case. Meanwhile, his brother Krishna Sona was also arrested alongside him.
Kadma is a police station area in Jamshedpur. Both accused were produced before a court on Sunday.
Subsequently, they were sent to judicial custody in the firing case. Officers recovered a country-made pistol from the accused.
In addition, a live cartridge was seized from them. Investigators also found an empty shell at the crime scene.
However, all recoveries came after the accused’s disclosures during questioning. Besides, police seized the mobile phones of both accused.
The devices are now being examined for evidence. City SP Lalit Meena confirmed details of the case.
He said the firing occurred on the night of July 2. Additionally, the incident took place in Ramjanam Nagar under Kadma limits.
Meanwhile, the victim Sanjay Tandi suffered a serious bullet injury. The bullet struck him in the jaw.
He was rushed to MGM Hospital for treatment. However, doctors later referred him to RIMS in Ranchi.
His condition remained critical after initial treatment. Moreover, investigators traced the shooting to a personal dispute.
The disagreement reportedly led the accused to open fire. Police used technical evidence and secret information for identification.
Furthermore, Kadma police then moved swiftly to arrest both men. The action followed a flag march conducted earlier in the area.
“We are examining every aspect of this case,” Meena said. He added that action would follow against anyone else involved.
The arrests come days after a separate law and order incident was reported in the same locality. Police in the city had also carried out a police crackdown against other offences this week. Meena, who took charge as City SP Lalit Meena, has overseen several such operations recently.
