JAMSHEDPUR – A security guard was killed and cash looted from a temple donation box in Ranchi, with CCTV footage helping police detain suspects.

A shocking crime took place at a historic temple in Ranchi late at night. Miscreants killed a security guard and looted donation cash.

However, police responded quickly and launched an investigation. Officers began examining evidence from the crime scene.

CCTV cameras provided a major breakthrough in the case. Footage showed a suspicious man inside the temple premises.

Meanwhile, officials believe the suspect seen could be the main accused. Technical teams are enhancing footage for identification.

Investigators found the temple was locked from inside. However, construction work at the rear provided access.

Moreover, a ladder placed there helped the accused enter. He allegedly attacked the guard before committing theft.

The donation box was broken open during the incident. Cash kept inside was stolen by the attacker.

On the other hand, senior officers reached the scene soon after. Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan inspected the location.

Police teams have started raids across different areas. Four suspects are currently in custody for questioning.

Meanwhile, officials said initial findings suggest a single person carried out the act. However, police are verifying all angles.

A police source said the investigation is progressing fast. “We are close to identifying the accused,” the source stated.

Authorities assured that the accused will be arrested soon. The case has been registered under Murder and robbery charges.
