JAMSHEDPUR – A domestic dispute in Parsudih led a man to burn his own house, causing major losses but avoiding a wider disaster.

The incident occurred in the Parsudih police area of Jamshedpur on Thursday morning. A resident identified as Raja Prasad reportedly set his house on fire.

However, the act followed a heated argument with his wife. Locals said he was intoxicated during the incident.

Meanwhile, the fire quickly spread inside the house. Household items and valuables were completely destroyed.

Moreover, important documents kept inside were also reduced to ashes. The total loss is estimated to be in lakhs.

On the other hand, residents acted quickly after noticing the flames. They immediately informed the fire department.

Subsequently, a fire engine reached the spot without delay. Firefighters, along with locals, controlled the blaze.

However, officials said the situation could have worsened. Nearby houses were at serious risk.

Meanwhile, the accused fled from the scene after setting the fire. Police are expected to take further action.

In contrast, residents credited timely intervention for preventing a larger tragedy. Their alertness helped contain the damage.
