JAMSHEDPUR – A major theft in Jamtara saw jewelry worth about Rs 12 lakh stolen during Akshaya Tritiya night.

The incident occurred at Subhash Chowk in Jamtara town. It involved a jewelry store named Shubham Jewelers.

Meanwhile, the theft happened on Akshaya Tritiya night. The day saw heavy customer footfall across markets.

However, unknown individuals broke a rear ventilator to enter. They gained access inside the shop quietly.

Moreover, the intruders opened an internal locker. They removed valuable ornaments stored inside.

The shop owner, Manoj Kumar Barman, arrived in the morning. He noticed the broken ventilator immediately.

However, he found the locker open and items missing. The scene indicated a planned burglary.

According to initial estimates, about 2 grams of gold were stolen. Nearly 5 kilograms of silver ornaments were also taken.

Meanwhile, the total value of stolen items is estimated at Rs 12 lakh. Officials are verifying the exact losses.

After receiving information, police reached the location quickly. They began a detailed investigation at the site.

Moreover, officers questioned nearby residents for clues. CCTV footage from surrounding areas is under review.

On the other hand, police teams are conducting raids. Efforts are ongoing to identify the suspects.

The incident has triggered concern among local traders. Business owners expressed anger over security lapses.
