Trailer Owners’ Chief Issues Hunger Strike Warning

Protest Set for April 27 Over Delay in Arrests

Key Points:

  • Association Chief Warns of Hunger Strike on April 27
  • No Arrests Made in Two Police Cases Yet
  • Allegations Raised Against Investigation Process

JAMSHEDPUR – A trailer owners’ leader has warned of a hunger strike and self-immolation over delayed arrests in two police cases.

The president of the Jamshedpur Local Trailer Owner Association issued the warning on Saturday. He cited frustration over inaction in two cases registered at Burmamines police station.

Meanwhile, the cases are numbered 08/2026 and 10/2026. However, no arrests have been made even after two months.

He submitted a written complaint to senior officials. The complaint was addressed to the SSP, Deputy Commissioner, and SDO.

Moreover, he announced an indefinite hunger strike from April 27. The protest will take place at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises.

He also warned of self-immolation if no action follows. This has raised concern among administrative authorities.

On the other hand, the complainant alleged lapses in investigation. He claimed that the investigating officer failed to arrest the accused.

He further stated that this delay emboldened the suspects. According to him, they now fear neither police nor courts.

Moreover, he expressed concern over possible future crimes. He warned that the accused could plan serious criminal acts.

The complaint also raised procedural issues. He alleged that case diaries included false facts.

Meanwhile, he claimed statements were recorded without witness verification. This, he said, violated established legal procedures.

In contrast, he described himself as being harassed by the process. He said the protest was his final option.

He clearly stated that the agitation would continue. The movement will persist until arrests are made.

Moreover, he urged immediate administrative intervention. He demanded a fair and transparent investigation.

The situation in Jamshedpur has drawn attention. Authorities are yet to respond publicly.
