JAMSHEDPUR – A 60-year-old man died after debris from a building balcony collapsed on him in Mango area.

The incident occurred under Mango police station limits in Kunwar Basti. Meanwhile, debris fell from the sixth floor of Ashoka Tower Phase 2.

The victim was identified as Manohar Dheewar. However, he had stepped out to buy items when the incident occurred.

Suddenly, a portion of the balcony collapsed above him. Moreover, the falling debris trapped him underneath.

Locals rushed to rescue him immediately. Meanwhile, he was taken to MGM hospital for treatment.

Doctors examined him upon arrival. However, he was declared dead after assessment.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information. Moreover, the body was taken into custody for further procedures.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, concerns have been raised about building safety standards.
