SERAIKELA – The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, visited the Kharsawan Martyrs Memorial on Thursday. He paid tribute to the tribal heroes on January 1.

The Chief Minister declined the Guard of Honor earlier. He refused the ceremonial reception at the helipad. Moreover, he proceeded directly to the memorial site.

Soren addressed the media during his visit. He spoke about the tribal community’s sacrifices extensively. The heroes protected their land and forests courageously.

The Chief Minister described the memorial as unforgettable. He emphasized its historical significance for the community. In addition, he praised the martyrs’ valor.

Soren explained the New Year’s symbolic beginning. The day starts with honoring ancestors’ sacrifices. However, remembrance remains central to the celebration.

The government will form a special committee soon. It will identify the Kharsawan firing incident martyrs systematically. Furthermore, authorities will honor their descendants appropriately.

Soren drew parallels with the Gua firing case. Similar recognition efforts will guide this initiative. On the other hand, comprehensive identification requires systematic approach.

The committee will trace martyrs’ families carefully. Government assistance will reach eligible descendants eventually. Meanwhile, documentation work will begin shortly.

Minister Deepak Birua accompanied the Chief Minister. MP Joba Majhi attended the memorial ceremony. Besides, MLA Dashrath Gagrai remained present throughout.

MLA Savita Mahato also participated in the event. Other officials joined the tribute program. In addition, local leaders witnessed the proceedings.

The Chief Minister addressed a public gathering afterward. He outlined government plans for martyrs’ families. Moreover, employment opportunities will be considered seriously.

The Seraikela-Kharsawan district holds historical importance. Tribal resistance movements shaped the region’s identity. Furthermore, colonial-era struggles left lasting impact.

The memorial commemorates the sacrifice of tribal warriors. They fought against oppressive British policies bravely. However, many heroes remain unidentified still.

January 1st observance marks Kharsawan Martyrs Day annually. The CM recently announced special commission formation for honoring descendants. Additionally, the government promised employment to martyrs’ families. Earlier, large crowds were expected at the memorial site. The CM also paid respects to the fallen heroes formally.
