Littipara-NH 33 Bridge Construction Begins in Jamshedpur East

Rs 49 Crore Project to Connect Directly with Bhilai Hill Route

Key Points:

  • Four-kilometer bridge work starts after years of delay
  • MLA Purnima Sahu ensures no houses demolished during construction
  • Project completion targeted within 18 months from commencement

JAMSHEDPUR – Construction work began Wednesday on long-awaited bridge. The structure will connect Littipara Chowk to NH 33 route. It falls under Jamshedpur East constituency jurisdiction.

The four-kilometer bridge carries Rs 49 crore budget. It will significantly improve city’s highway connectivity. Moreover, traffic congestion should reduce substantially after completion.

Heavy vehicle jams frequently block major routes currently. Road accidents occur regularly on existing stretches. However, the new infrastructure promises effective control measures.

Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das conceived this project initially. Authorities named it Signature Bridge during planning. Saryu Roy performed foundation stone ceremony then.

Nevertheless, the project remained stalled for years afterward. MLA Purnima Sahu raised this issue prominently. She highlighted delays during assembly sessions repeatedly. Consequently, Road Construction Department initiated work now.

Purnima Sahu is Raghubar Das’s daughter-in-law currently. She represents Jamshedpur East constituency after election victory. Her persistent efforts yielded concrete results finally.

The bridge will reach Bhilai Hill directly via NH 33. It bypasses congested internal city routes entirely. Therefore, commercial vehicles gain faster transit options.

MLA Sahu issued strict instructions to department officials. “No houses should face demolition during construction,” she emphasized firmly. The DPR specifically mentions this protection clause.

Officials must ensure zero encroachment removal throughout process. Residential structures will remain completely untouched during execution. This commitment brought significant relief to locals.

The project timeline spans 18 months from start date. Contractors received clear deadlines for completion targets. Work will progress in multiple phases systematically.

Area residents welcomed the development enthusiastically Wednesday. Joy spread rapidly across neighborhoods after commencement. People had waited years for this infrastructure.

The bridge addresses critical traffic management needs in eastern sector. It complements other ongoing connectivity projects across city. Furthermore, it supports industrial growth in region.

Road reconstruction plans accompany bridge construction simultaneously. Approach roads will receive upgrades during execution. The comprehensive development benefits multiple localities together.
