Two Held With Brown Sugar in Sidhgora Drug Bust

Police Seize 43 Packets of Narcotics, Recover Stolen Motorcycle

JAMSHEDPUR – Sidhgora police arrested two individuals with 43 packets of brown sugar during an anti-narcotics operation in Baridih area.

Acting on intelligence about drug trafficking near Baridih Works Flat, authorities formed a special raid team. The operation was conducted under Operation Prahar initiative. DSP Headquarters 1 Bhola Prasad confirmed the arrests on Monday.

Two suspects attempted to flee on seeing police vehicles. However, officers cornered and apprehended them successfully. The accused identified themselves as Tinku Lal Sahu, 25, and Santosh Bagti, 19. Both are residents of Bagbera locality.

Police recovered 23 packets from Tinku Lal Sahu’s possession. The contraband weighed 3.33 grams in total. Officers also seized one mobile phone from him.

Meanwhile, Santosh Bagti was found carrying 20 packets. These weighed 1.53 grams altogether. A Redmi mobile phone was recovered from him. Additionally, police found a Bank of Baroda ATM card.

The combined seizure amounted to 4.86 grams. All packets were confiscated following proper procedure. Authorities also impounded a black Splendor motorcycle.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to vehicle theft. The motorcycle was stolen from Bajrang Chowk on November 30, 2025. Jamshedpur police had already registered case number 174/2025.

Tinku Lal Sahu has previous criminal history. He served jail time for NDPS violations earlier. Furthermore, he faced charges in theft cases previously.

Both accused were arrested under NDPS Act provisions. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them. The operation reflects intensified anti-drug measures in the area.

City police continue surveillance in Baridih locality. Authorities maintain vigilance against drug smuggling networks. The recent bust demonstrates effective intelligence gathering.

Related operations in Sidhgora have yielded multiple arrests recently. Police recovered substantial contraband in previous raids. Anti-narcotics drives remain a priority for law enforcement.
