Youth Caught Red-Handed Attempting Theft at Sakchi Jail Chowk

Resident Gautam Spots Broken Lock, Crowd Chases Suspect to MGM Hospital

JAMSHEDPUR – A theft attempt at Jail Chowk in Sakchi area led to one arrest on Wednesday afternoon. Local residents caught the suspect red-handed.

The incident occurred at quarter number FD-1. Owner Gautam noticed his house lock was broken. Moreover, a youth was trying to enter inside.

The suspect was later identified as Karan. He resides in Devnagar area. Gautam immediately raised an alarm.

Karan fled from the spot after being spotted. Furthermore, he tried hiding in MGM Hospital premises. However, pursuing residents caught him there.

Sakchi police station’s PCR van reached the location. Officers took the accused into custody immediately. The response followed prompt information about the incident.

Police recovered a knife during search operations. Besides, officers found it on Karan’s possession. The accused was then taken to Sakchi station.

Police believe Karan was roaming the area with criminal intent. In addition, he attempted breaking the lock. The suspect tried entering the quarter forcefully.

Officers are currently interrogating the accused. On the other hand, they are checking his criminal record. The investigation continues at the station.

Sakchi police have handled multiple theft cases recently. The area witnessed an interstate bike theft gang bust earlier. Meanwhile, officers recovered five stolen vehicles in another operation. Furthermore, three flats were targeted by thieves in July. In addition, seven persons were arrested with stolen bikes in January.
