Kolkata’s Pratishruti Festival Marks 15 Years

Sonarpur NADAM Presents Two-Day Classical Dance and Music Event at ICCR

KOLKATA – Sonarpur NADAM organizes a two-day Indian classical dance and music festival in Kolkata on December 6-7, supported by the Ministry of Culture.

The festival, titled “Pratishruti – 15th Year”, will be held at ICCR Auditorium. Daily programs begin at 5:00 PM. Moreover, internationally acclaimed Kathak exponent Sandeep Mallik directs the entire event.

The first day features diverse classical performances. Arnab Bandopadhyay and Darpani present Odissi dance. Meanwhile, Manjuri Das performs Kathakali.

Sukanya Burman showcases Bharatanatyam on day one. In addition, Natyanova presents a Mohiniyattam group performance. Priyadarshani Ghosh and Mohana Iyer direct this segment.

Dr. Iliya Das Mukherjee leads a Manipuri group performance. Furthermore, Tanusree Chanda’s group performs Kathak. Sonarpur NADAM also presents its repertoire.

The second day opens with instrumental and vocal music. Pt. Partho Bose plays sitar. However, Sounak Chattopadhyay provides vocal accompaniment.

Souvik Chakraborty and Dr. Sucharita Datta Ghata present a Kathak duet. On the other hand, Arpita and Vandita Venkatesh perform Odissi duet. Vempati Lakshmi Kameswari showcases Kuchipudi dance.

Sumi Rai and Anjali Rai present Kathak performances. Besides, Sonarpur NADAM concludes with Kathak presentations.

Co-artists support the festival throughout both days. Biswajit Paul and Indranil Mullick accompany on tabla. Meanwhile, Jaydeep Sinha provides vocal support.

Sunando Mukherjee plays sarod during performances. The festival showcases India’s rich classical heritage. Moreover, distinguished artists from diverse traditions participate.

The institution Sonarpur NADAM has dedicated itself to classical dance in Kolkata. The cultural celebration promises grand artistic presentations. Organizers invite all art lovers to attend.
