DHANBAD – A toxic gas leak in Kenduadih police station area affected dozens of residents on Tuesday. The incident caused panic across multiple neighborhoods.

Rajput Basti, Masjid Mohalla and Number 5 area reported strong foul smell. More than 24 people fell ill. Moreover, one pet parrot died from gas exposure.

BCCL safety officers arrived with gas detection equipment. Kenduadih station in-charge joined the investigation team. Furthermore, officials inspected affected localities thoroughly.

Preliminary investigations suggest gas emission near GM Guest House. The source appears to be around bushes. However, exact gas type remains unidentified.

Area Safety Officer from Kusunda provided assessment details. Gas presence is suspected in surrounding locations. Besides, the odor intensity is quite strong.

Officials are reporting findings to higher authorities. On the other hand, preparations for stopping leakage continue. The gas percentage hasn’t been determined yet.

BCCL agent Lakhan Lal Barnwal leads source identification efforts. Detection machine scanning is underway. In addition, plugging work will begin immediately.

Local resident Tinku Ansari reported multiple sudden illnesses. Meanwhile, Ramkishan’s pet parrot succumbed to gas effects. The bird’s death raised serious concerns.

Mahesh Goswami described his daughter’s experience. She collapsed while leaving home in morning. Furthermore, doctors confirmed toxic gas impact.

Several families evacuated the area temporarily. The affected population exceeds one thousand residents. Besides, dozens received hospital treatment for symptoms.

Victims complained of severe headaches and nausea. Breathing difficulties forced multiple hospitalizations. On the other hand, some left their homes immediately.

Station in-charge Pramod Pandey confirmed receiving alerts. Local councilor and residents reported the emergency. Moreover, BCCL received immediate notification.

The investigation team continues working at the site. Furthermore, efforts focus on stopping gas emission. Officials treat the matter with utmost seriousness.

Gas leaks have been a concern in the area for a long time. Elsewhere in Jharkhand, previous gas leak incidents occurred in Jamshedpur earlier. A hotel fire was sparked by gas leakage in June. Meanwhile, cylinder leak caused injuries in Sonari. In addition, safety drills were conducted at Bokaro Steel Plant recently.
