JAMSHEDPUR – Three drug addicts attacked a 10-year-old boy in Bhuiyadih Kalyan Nagar today. The assailants snatched his gold locket after gagging him.
Sarita Devi had gone to Kalyan Nagar Chowk with son Upendra Kebrata. They were purchasing items from a local shop. Moreover, the child ran ahead while returning home.
The boy was approximately 100 meters ahead of his mother. Three men emerged from behind Shiv Temple suddenly. Besides, they dragged the child behind the temple structure.
The attackers gagged Upendra’s mouth forcefully. They removed the gold locket from his neck quickly. However, Sarita reached the spot moments later.
She screamed upon witnessing her son’s plight. The three men fled immediately after the incident. On the other hand, no bystanders could apprehend them.
Local residents revealed disturbing patterns in the neighborhood. Some locality boys and outsiders consume prohibited substances regularly. Furthermore, drug trafficking operates openly in the area.
Alcohol, ganja, and brown sugar sale flourishes actively. The narcotics business thrives under police watch. Besides, prohibited substance usage continues unchecked throughout the settlement.
A similar incident occurred in C Block recently. One woman lost her earring through forceful snatching. Moreover, the perpetrator escaped without facing consequences.
Police patrolling remains absent from the locality. Suspicious individuals roam freely without questioning. However, law enforcement presence could deter such crimes.
The settlement has maintained peace for five decades. No snatching incidents occurred during this entire period. On the other hand, recent months witnessed multiple such occurrences.
“Police must control this situation immediately,” a resident stated. Community safety requires urgent intervention measures. Besides, regular patrolling could prevent future incidents.
Crime control initiatives need strengthening across Jamshedpur neighborhoods. Criminal activities targeting vulnerable victims demand swift action. Drug dealer arrests must increase significantly. Temple area crimes require dedicated surveillance measures.
