JAMSHEDPUR – The United Village Coordination Committee conducted a meeting regarding restoration of local train stoppages at Salgajhudi railway station.

The committee demanded restoration of all local train halts. Basic facilities for passengers should also be provided. Moreover, services should match previous arrangements at the station.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Salgajhudi station online. The inauguration took place on February 24, 2024. However, local residents and social workers attended the ceremony.

The station serves thousands of daily commuters regularly. Daily wage laborers use this facility extensively. Besides, vegetable vendors also depend on these trains.

Leaf sellers travel through this station daily. Toothbrush twig vendors also use the facility. Furthermore, flower sellers and common passengers commute in thousands.

Salgajhudi is close to Jamshedpur and Tatanagar station. The station serves a densely populated area. In addition, it connects several nearby villages effectively.

Local trains on down line stopped halting recently. Up line trains also skip the station now. Meanwhile, passengers face significant inconvenience due to this.

Ram Singh Munda serves as chief coordinator. He leads the United Village Coordination Committee. The committee represents multiple village interests collectively.

Thousands of poor people depend on this station. Their livelihoods connect directly to train services. On the other hand, current situation affects their daily earnings.

The committee emphasized the station’s increased importance. PM Modi’s inauguration added special significance to it. Besides, it serves as vital transport link for region.

Local residents struggle without proper train stoppages. They demand immediate restoration of previous services. However, authorities have not responded to appeals yet.

The meeting discussed strategies for pressing demands. Committee members planned further action if needed. Moreover, they decided to approach railway officials directly.
