JAMSHEDPUR – Local women protested strongly against a men’s beauty parlour in Garabasa under Golmuri police station, alleging that the salon was being used for immoral activities.
The protest created tension in the area. However, police soon reached the spot and ordered the closure of the parlour.
Meanwhile, the women later filed a written complaint at Golmuri police station. Acting on it, officers sealed the shop and started an inquiry.
According to residents, this was not the first protest. Earlier too, the same parlour had been shut after similar objections.
On the other hand, when the owner reopened the business again today, the women resumed their protest, forcing another closure.
A local woman said that the salon’s activities had a bad influence on nearby girls and women. “Such a place should not operate here,” she said.
Police confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway to verify the allegations.
