Saryu Roy Seeks Action Against Attackers and Bistupur SHO
MLA Demands Probe Into Alleged Police Collusion in DC Lounge Vandalism
Key Points:
- MLA Saryu Roy urges SSP to act against DC Lounge attackers
- Accuses Bistupur SHO of aiding culprits and violating jurisdiction
- Residents allege daily intimidation by local criminal groups
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy has written to the Senior Superintendent of Police demanding strict action against those involved in the planned vandalism at DC Lounge outlets in Bistupur and Sakchi.
In his letter, Roy also sought an inquiry into the conduct of the Bistupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge, alleging that his actions during and after the incident raise serious questions of collusion with the attackers.
The legislator visited both outlets and said the extent of destruction at the Bistupur DC Lounge was “inhuman and beyond imagination.” He reminded the SSP that he had called him from the site itself, urging immediate action against the perpetrators.
Roy stated that local residents described the area as being terrorized daily by a dominant criminal group. The gang allegedly extorts and intimidates business owners and residents, attempting to control the locality or drive people away.
At Sakchi, Roy met over a hundred gathered citizens and traders who narrated how the same gang from Bistupur created chaos at the outlet there. Residents confronted the group, forcing them to flee, leaving behind five motorcycles. The locals informed Sakchi police and urged them to seize the vehicles.
According to Roy’s letter, soon after, the Bistupur SHO arrived with police personnel, reprimanded the crowd, and had 7–8 individuals start and take away the motorcycles. The SHO then left without coordinating with Sakchi police. Roy said this act revealed an “unholy nexus” between the officer and the attackers.
He added that Sakchi police later confirmed no formal communication was made by the Bistupur SHO regarding the removal of the vehicles. Roy described the SHO’s conduct as aiding a “brutal criminal act” and violating jurisdiction, bringing disgrace to the police force.
