JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested Deepak Kumar Chaudhary alias Teka Chaudhary for the October 5 firing incident at Sanjay Path.
The accused had fired at Umesh Kumar Pandey’s house. Pandey lives on Dimna Road area currently. However, he faces externment orders from the district.
Police acted swiftly on available evidence after the incident. Officers tracked down the named accused within days. Moreover, they recovered the weapon used in the attack.
Authorities seized a 7.65mm country-made pistol from Chaudhary. The weapon was used during the firing. SSP Piyush Pandey announced the arrest on Tuesday.
He held a press conference to share details. The investigation revealed Chaudhary’s extensive criminal background. In addition, multiple serious cases exist against him.
MGM police station registered case 96/2023 against the accused. Mango station filed case 403/2021 earlier. Furthermore, Jarmundi station in Dumka recorded case 54/2023.
These cases include murder charges against Chaudhary. Extortion allegations also figure in the complaints. Besides, Arms Act violations are part of the record.
The accused terrorizes locals through such attacks periodically. He fires to intimidate residents in the area. On the other hand, police continue investigating all angles.
Officers are sending Chaudhary to judicial custody now. The pistol will undergo forensic examination soon. Meanwhile, authorities will continue their crackdown on criminals.
Police stated they maintain vigilance against criminal elements. The department will pursue such offenders relentlessly. A senior officer emphasized maintaining peace in the locality.
