JAMSHEDPUR – A fatal accident near Jaldahar petrol pump in Patamda led to protests and a long road blockade on Monday.
The victim, Gangasagar Tudu, aged 30, was from Kiyabohal village under Lava panchayat. He was riding his motorcycle to Jamshedpur duty when a speeding sand-laden Hyva coming from the wrong direction struck him.
The crash was severe, and he died on the spot. Soon after, angry villagers placed his body on the main road, blocking traffic for hours. They demanded compensation for the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Patamda police officials and administrative officers arrived at the scene. They assured villagers that support would be provided. After prolonged talks, an agreement for ₹3.5 lakh compensation was reached.
Following this, the body was sent for post-mortem. With the assurance and payout settlement, villagers ended the blockade and normal traffic resumed.
Tudu was married, and his family was left devastated by the tragedy. Officials further promised to extend all possible assistance. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
