Police Solve Sakchi Chain Snatching Case, Three Arrested

Gold Chain, Bullet Bike Recovered; Accused Linked to Multiple Loot Cases

JAMSHEDPUR – Police cracked the recent Sakchi chain snatching case, arresting two habitual offenders and recovering the stolen gold chain along with a black Bullet bike.

City SP Kumar Shivashish said the arrests came after a raid in Pardih Mango area. The operation was led by SI Amit Kumar Singh following secret inputs.

The arrested were identified as Shahbaz Sheikh alias Shabu (23) and Sajid Sheikh alias Aman Billa. Both confessed to snatching the chain of complainant Swarnali Kumari on September 15.

Police said the duo also admitted to another snatching on July 16 near Baradwari Dutta Decorator. They later sold one stolen chain to Waseem Akram alias Chandu for ₹11,000. He too was arrested, bringing the total arrests in the case to three.

Recovered items included:

  • Stolen gold chain
  • Black Bullet bike used in crime

Officials confirmed that both Shahbaz and Sajid have multiple past cases. Shahbaz faces robbery charges at Barmamines and Azadnagar, while Sajid is wanted in loot cases registered in Barmamines, Sakchi, and Mango.

Police said all three accused have been sent to jail after the recovery and confessions.
