JAMSHEDPUR – Tension erupted in Burmamines after a youth was killed in an early morning road accident near Tube Company gate on Thursday.
Around 3:30 a.m., Sharanjit, a resident of Namda Basti, left home to drop his friend at Tatanagar Railway Station. On the way, he was hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Tube Company gate, leading to his death on the spot.
Following the incident, angry family members, along with local residents, blocked the road and set tyres on fire. They raised demands for compensation and staged a strong protest.
Meanwhile, Burmamines police rushed to the scene and began persuading the agitated crowd. However, at the time of reporting, traffic remained disrupted as the blockade continued.
