JAMSHEDPUR – Police registered a case of abetment to suicide in Sidhgora after the body of Sneha Srivastava was found hanging.
According to the statement of her brother Abhishek Kumar Srivastava, four family members have been named accused. They include husband Nikhil Srivastava, father-in-law Gupteshwar Prasad, sister-in-law Soni of Govindpur, and brother-in-law Sonu.
Investigators were told that Sneha had been married for eight years. However, she reportedly faced physical and mental harassment due to not having children. Additionally, demands for dowry were allegedly made.
The complaint stated that Sneha was murdered for dowry and her body was later hung. Meanwhile, police confirmed that some suspects had been detained for questioning. Officials said that action would follow once the investigation is completed.
