JAMSHEDPUR – A clash erupted between two factions near Birsa Chowk under Ulidih police station in Mango over road construction on Sunday.
According to police sources, one side alleged that illegal drug trade and gambling activities continued in the locality till late night. The other side, however, claimed that boundary walls were being raised on encroached land during road construction, which local residents opposed.
Residents stated that they had demolished a boundary wall allegedly built over the road. Meanwhile, police confirmed that the dispute arose from the ongoing road construction work.
Ulidih police reached the spot after receiving information and managed to pacify both groups. They later brought the parties to the police station for mediation. Officials said the construction work was being carried out by Mango Municipal Corporation and would proceed after mutual settlement.
