VHP Urges Kadma Ganesh Puja Committee to Follow Traditional Immersion
Organizers Agree to Conduct Idol Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi Next Year
Key Points:
- VHP meets Kadma Ganesh Puja organizers over immersion timing
- Committee agrees to perform visarjan only on Anant Chaturdashi
- Assurance given for ritual immersion at river ghat, not bridge
JAMSHEDPUR – Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Jamshedpur leaders met the organizers of Shri Bal Ganpati Vilas Puja Committee in Kadma and requested that Ganesh idol immersion be done strictly according to Sanatan tradition.
VHP officials, led by district president Ajay Gupta and district minister Chandrika Bhagat, emphasized that immersion should be performed on the 11th day, Anant Chaturdashi, marking the conclusion of the festival that begins on Ganesh Chaturthi.
The committee members accepted the request and assured that from next year, they would finalize the practice before the festival and conduct visarjan only on Anant Chaturdashi. They acknowledged that although the tradition has continued for 107 years, such clarity had not been shared earlier.
VHP also insisted that the idol should not be immersed directly from the Adityapur bridge into the river. Instead, it should be carried to the riverbank and ritually immersed at the ghat. The committee agreed to this as well.
The VHP warned that if the tradition is not followed in future, saints, mahants, and the organization would oppose the violation and ensure compliance with religious customs.
The meeting was attended by VHP leaders including Arun Singh, Ajay Gupta, Chandrika Bhagat, Uttam Kumar, Chandan Das, Pradeep Singh, Deepak Verma, Sudha Johri, Manish Singh, Jitendra Pramanik, Vivek Sharma, and Vishal Ji, along with members of the Shri Bal Ganpati Vilas Puja Committee.
